Buyer’s Guide to Next-Gen SIEM - Get the Guide
SecurityWeek Subscriber,

Many vendors lay claim to the “next-gen” label, but not all SIEMs are what they seem. Keep reading for five key questions to ask your current or prospective provider to discover whether or not they truly offer a next-gen security solution.
  1. Are you truly cloud-native?: The answer should be “yes,” but if they also offer hybrid or on-prem solutions the answer is actually “no.”
  2. Are all features included as part of the SaaS price?: If their cost breakdown includes lots of line items and a mix of different licensing costs, you’re looking at a legacy SIEM.
  3. Do you play well with others?: Modern SIEMs don’t develop their solutions in a walled garden–they use a well-documented, open API so they can integrate with any vendor in your tech stack.
  4. How do you approach data parsing and storage?: Legacy SIEMs parse data on ingestion causing a delay between when the raw data is received and when it’s parsed and indexed. During this delay no alerts or searches can occur, crippling your SOC.
  5. Will it enable my analysts to work faster and more effectively?: A next-gen SIEM should support and upskill your analysts as it’s easier to use and more powerful than its predecessors.

Trying to decide which SIEM is right for your enterprise? We’ve done the hard part for you.
